Information about Dandelion as a herb, find out how this little weed could be beneficial to your health.

Everyone is familiar with the little dandelion… most people spend most of their summers waging war against it. Not very many people realize what a nutritious and amazing little herb the dandelion is when it comes to health and wellness.

The entire dandelion can be used… flowers, leaves, stems and roots. They can be added to cooked dishes or used fresh in salads. They can even be made into tea and green drinks.

Medicinally, dandelion is one of the very best blood purifiers and builders in the entire plant kingdom. And if you have liver problems, the lowly dandelion can’t be beat. It helps maintain the health of the liver and other organs.

The dandelion is very high in a lot of vitamins and minerals, and it is excellent as a source of natural calcium. Taken during menstruation, the dandelion can easily replace the calcium lost during normal blood flow.

If you’re anemic, or have low blood pressure, the dandelion is your best friend. It can also help you build up energy and endurance. If you’re trying to lose weight, dandelion can remove excess acidity that sometimes overcomes the body while dieting. Once the body’s chemistry is normalized, you can continue to lose weight in a healthy manner.

The primary use dandelion has, however is for cleansing and toning the liver. It has been proven to increase bile production and movement, and this helps the liver to cleanse itself, improve its tone, and heal any damage. If the liver becomes blocked or stagnated, it cannot do it job of filtering harmful substances from the body. Dandelion keeps it flowing freely.

You may be surprised that as dandelion helps the bile to move more efficiently through the body, seemingly unrelated health problems begin to heal as well. This happens because most of the harmful toxins in the body must be removed in order for the body to heal itself and maintain a state of wellbeing. These toxins must be filtered through the liver. If the liver is not working well, these toxins can build up in other areas of the body, and this can cause all sorts of health problems like acne, and a general feeling of illness.
